Welcome choombas! Maybe you’ve been waiting all these years from the first teaser trailer, or the world of Cyberpunk may be new to you. Either way, it’s here now so get some Cyberpunk 2077 GOG Keys and get the game!
In Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll take the role of V and enter the futuristic setting of Night City. Here in this metropolis of vice, body modification, crime, and everything in between, you’ll take V on their journey to etch out a living and make yourself one of Night City’s legends.
In the process, you’ll face ruthless gangs, malicious corporations, and fellow citizens trying to scrape by just like you. To survive and thrive in this world you’ll need weapons, cyber mods, and maybe a few tips and tricks wouldn’t hurt as well.
Know Your Skills
As with any RPG, the skills and abilities you choose to master will boost the playstyle. There are some really cool options too, with the ability to be a thick-skinned tank, a master hacker, or a cyber-enhanced sharpshooter.
With all this to choose from it can be easy to want to go the jack-of-all-trades route. While that is a possible way, it can be punishing if you don’t pick a specialty.
One of the first things you’ll do in the game is to allocate your various attributes; body, intelligence, technical ability, reflexes, technical, and (the well-named) cool. Each of these attributes will relate to abilities and later available skills that you can upgrade throughout the game.
So before you deep dive into the game, ask yourself what you’ll be known for. What will your legend entail?
On the discussion of abilities, one such that is often overlooked is the technical ability attribute and attached skills. When first starting out, you may not be aware of the weight this attribute has in-game.
That being said, you definitely don’t have to sink points into this ability to win the game. But it can be beneficial to understand what it can do for you.
It isn’t until your combat tutorial that you understand what hacking can be used for. Well after you allocate those aforementioned points. As such, you learn you can hack grenades, open doors, distract enemies, make cameras turn a blind eye, and more. You can definitely see the benefits of hacking.
No matter your playstyle, consider adding a couple points to the tech ability attribute, or go all out and be the netrunner of corpo’s nightmares. Either way remember that Night City has tech in its veins, and hackers can use that to their advantage.
Bright Lights Big City
There are lots to do in Night City, more than you could shake a katana at. Therefore, once you’re given the reigns and allowed to explore you definitely should.
This world stands out quite drastically than other RPG’s or any game’s setting for that matter. With that, you’ll want to get a feel for the world you inhabit. Do some side quests, meet some new people, explore the boroughs of Night City, and get familiar with the city and how it works.
Side quests especially are a great way to make Eurodollars (eddies for short) and gain loot early in the game. As a plus, you’ll also begin getting familiar with the map and how the game works, which can make story missions much smoother in the long run.
Night City takes New York’s nickname as “the city that never sleeps” to a whole new level. There are always multiple things to do, and the faster you understand what options you have, the faster you can use them to your advantage.
2077 Ways to Die
With a game as dynamic and expansive as Cyberpunk, there are a lot of ways to approach combat. In turn, there are a lot of weapons to add some spice to that approach.
You can easily make an armory with all the weapons you have to choose from in Cyberpunk. Ranged weapons of all varieties, including power, tech, and smart ballistic types; melee weapons including katanas, clubs, knives, and a rare weapon that’s rather “adult” in nature; grenades a-plenty; and a host of cybernetic implants that makes your body a weapon of its own.
There’s no right answer as to what to choose, as with the aforementioned skills and attributes. SO get experimental with it, and don’t forget to keep in mind what sort of mission you’re going on.
Need to sneak into a corpo HQ? Mantis blades may be the way to go. Gunfight in a gang turf? Grab a smart assault rifle and pack plenty of grenades just in case. Want to make a scene? Walk into a hail of gunfire and get up close and personal with the gorilla arms implant.
Save, Save, Save
No matter the console you’re playing Cyberpunk on, it runs a lot. As with any game that does a lot at once, it can glitch and freeze, sometimes more often than others.
Now, this isn’t a point of grief. For those who have played games like Fallout, Skyrim, Mass Effect, or any other large RPG with a lot going on, it’s just something you prepare for. One good way to prepare is to save often.
For those of us who are more conscious of choices made in games like this, it isn’t a bad idea to save before missions and prominent choices during the story. If you aren’t that type, make sure to quicksave every once and awhile. Especially when you say to yourself, “I’ve done a lot in the past few minutes.” Just to avoid losing save data and valuable time.
No matter what draws you to the game, there’s something for you in Cyberpunk 2077. Every playstyle has things that will draw you and there’s a lot of options for things to do in the game as a whole. No matter which playthrough or playstyle, keep these few things in mind and you shouldn’t have any problem making a name for yourself in Night City.
